Strength Training, also known as resistance training, involves any activity that puts a weighted load on your muscles, which stimulates them to become stronger and bigger. It might involve just your body weight, a set of resistance bands, dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells or machines.

Benefits

  • Builds muscle strength, which becomes more essential as we age as each decade after age 30 humans lose up to 5 pounds of muscle.
  • You can slow down or even reverse the aging process by building muscle mass and strength;
  • Increases bone density. Osteoporosis, a condition of accelerated bone mineral loss which leads to fractures, can be a crippling disease. Research on resistance exercises suggests that it can build bone even in the elderly.
  • Greater strength can lead to fewer falls, which drastically decreases risk of injury.

Attention to the contractual rules

Attention to the contractual rules:

  1. We offer individual and non-transferable plans for the practice of physical activities, sports nutrition, and individual or group physical evaluation.
  2. Our plan is valid for up to 3 (three) months.
  3. We offer plans for strength training and paddle-boarding activities.
  4. Each training session, whether individual or in a group of up to 5 (five) people, must be scheduled at least one week in advance, and each session lasts up to 60 (sixty) minutes.
  5. In the case of group training, each user must individually contract his/her training package.
  6. The activities must take place between 2 (two) and 3 (three) times a week for as long as there is a balance of hours available in the plan contracted by the user.
  7. In addition to strength training and stand up paddle boarding, the training offers the user a warm-up, stretching, technical improvement, and exercise practice for better physical conditioning and technical autonomy.
  8. Training can occur on the internet, in parks, homes, or gyms (whether private or gyms with free access to MCX Lifestyle for their students).
  9. For group training of 3 (three) to 5 (five) people, the MCX Lifestyle may provide up to two professionals for monitoring, mentoring, and coaching.
  10. The user can use the 12 (twelve), 24 (twenty-four), and 30 (thirty) hour plans for up to two physical evaluations: one before the start of his/her plan, and the other at the end of the contracted hours. The physical evaluation aims to identify the user’s goals and plan exercises and routines that must be followed. In that case, both sessions will be taken out of the training plan. For example, the user contracts 12 (twelve) hours and wants two physical evaluations; 12 (twelve) hours contracted – (minus) 2 hours of physical evaluation = 10 hours of training.
  11. The MCX Lifestyle also offers a sports nutrition consultation in the 12 (twelve), 24 (twenty-four), and 30 (thirty) hour plans. If this is the case, the consultation will be taken out of the training plan. For example, the user contracts 12 (twelve) hours and wants two physical evaluations; 12 (twelve) hours contracted – (minus) 2 hours of physical evaluation – (minus) 1 hour of sports nutrition consultation = 09 (nine) hours of training.
  12. There will be no relocation fee in the pre-established locations determined by the MCX Lifestyle as free areas.
  13. There will be no round trip mileage fee in the pre-established locations determined by the MCX Lifestyle as free areas.
  14. All the equipment necessary for home, park, lake, and ocean training will be made available by MCX Lifestyle, except for clothing and accessories.
  15. In case of cancellation of a session by the user, he/she must give at least 48 (forty-eight) hours notice in advance. Otherwise, the hours and amounts ​​will be charged normally.
  16. In case of the plan’s cancellation, the user must pay at least 50% of the contracted amount.
  17. Our services can be marketed through a website, social networks, electronic mail, or in-person by our sales representatives.
  18. All prices and plans are updated every month and may change the price, promotional campaign, length of service, or the number of users per activity.
  19. The contracted and paid services will be maintained regardless of any changes in the pricing and promotions policy.
  20. MCX Lifestyle.ca may change any conditions related to this document at any time.

All terms and conditions of this document and its attachments are confidential and the exclusive property of MCX Lifestyle, and it is characterized as a business secret. Therefore, such information must be treated with absolute confidentiality and must not be revealed by any means, copied, duplicated, or used, in whole or in part for any purpose other than solely and exclusively for evaluating this material.     I have been training on and off since I was in high school but was never able to fully get the results I wanted from the gym due to a lack of knowledge and poor nutrition.

    I was referred to Marcelo by my son Kyron who went through a training program with Marcelo to prepare him for the entrance requirements of the BC Wildfire Service. I started working with Marcelo in April, with the initial focus being that we would get the fitness level up and achieve significant weight loss.
    I am happy to share that we have made significant strides in both areas. The careful attention that Marcelo has given to my nutritional needs and ensuring that I adhere to these, has been very consistent.       Congratulations on your decision to participate in an exercise program! With the help of your kinesiologist/personal trainer/coach, you greatly improve your ability to accomplish your training goals faster, safer, and with maximum benefits. The details of these training sessions can be used for a lifetime.

      In order to maximize progress, it will be necessary for you to follow program guidelines during supervised and unsupervised training days. Remember, exercise and healthy eating are equally important! During your exercise program, every effort will be made to assure your safety. However, as with any exercise program, there are risks, including increased heart stress and the chance of musculoskeletal injuries. In registering for this program, you agree to assume responsibility for these risks and waive any possibility for personal damage. You also agree that, to your knowledge, you have no limiting physical conditions or disability that would preclude an exercise program.

      By signing below, you accept full responsibility for your own health and well-being AND you acknowledge an understanding that no responsibility is assumed by the leaders of the program.
      It is recommended that all program participants work with their kinesiologist/personal trainer three (3) times per week. However, due to scheduling conflicts and financial considerations, a combination of supervised and unsupervised workouts is possible.

      Personal Training Terms and Conditions

      1. MCX Lifestyle sessions that are not rescheduled or cancelled 48 hours in advance will result in forfeiture of the session and a loss of the financial investment at the rate of one session.

      2. Clients arriving late will receive the remaining scheduled session time, unless other arrangements have been previously made with the trainer.

      3. The expiration policy requires completion of all MCX Lifestyle sessions within 90 days from the date of the contract. Personal training sessions are void after this time period.

      4. No personal training refunds will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to relocation, illness, and unused sessions.
